Over the years, I’ve had friends ask for home shop recs. I’ll usually run over to my Google Maps, various Notes, Notion pages, and bookmarked IG posts and send them a list. It’s chaotic and I’ve wanted to have all of my spots in one place, so here they are.

This will constantly be updated, so bookmark this if you want an ever-evolving list of places to shop for furniture, decor, and all things home! Some secondhand, some new, some $, some $$$. You’re getting a range here. And if you ever want a personal recommendation from me or others, ask away in the Small Pleasures chat.

Quick note: Small Pleasures is a free newsletter right now (and has been since 2021!) but consider becoming a paid subscriber if you want to support it further. It helps make writing this possible and for those who are already paid subscribers, I am deeply grateful for you. Paid subscriber-only content (in addition to ongoing free content) is coming. <3 Thank you to everyone who is here. If you’re new here, welcome! Have a seat! I love it here.

Let’s! Get! Furnishing!

If you want me to add anything to this list, leave a comment! Chances are, I’m probably forgetting a few here.

Time Galleries, Park Slope

Category: Vintage and antique
Best for: big furniture items, vintage electronics, glassware, lighting

We’re starting with one of my favorite places. This shop is FILLED TO THE BRIM. You’ll find lamps, trinkets, glassware, and so much more. If you go to the basement, it’s big furniture pieces galore. You might spot a cat, too. Oh, to be a cat in an antique shop!

Life Boutique Thrift, Park Slope

Category: Vintage and antique
Best for: glassware, small home decor

Lots of great smaller home decor pieces here. (And clothes, too). Amazing if you need an emergency vase or lamp. Or a stack of vintage correspondence and photographs.

Housing Works, Park Slope

Category: Vintage and antique
Best for: small tables, small home decor, glassware

One time I came here and found the best selection of coffee tables and lamps. They also have great glassware, too.

LES Collection, Gowanus

Category: New and (sometimes) vintage
Best for: Dinnerware, vases & vessels, art

The dreamiest dinnerware and home objects. I exclusively eat all of my pastries on the Ribbon plate now.
