Park Slope is one of my favorite neighborhoods in New York.
It’s close to the park, it’s quiet, there are families everywhere, and there are so many little hidden gems. The tree-lined streets with brownstones are dreamy. There are cute home shops, thrift stores, and Italian shops. And it has NITEHAWK! What more could you want?
Even though I haven’t visited every place I’ve bookmarked, I have explored enough that I’ve got my go-to spots I regularly visit on a weekly basis. So, the next time you’re in the mood to spend a day in Park Slope, here’s what I would recommend. Coffee spots, lunch spots, dinner spots, little stores, all the things!
Let’s Get Coffee or Breakfast
I love making my own cappuccino at home, but if you need to get coffee somewhere, this is the best little Italian cafe. Their cappuccinos are strong (but amazing). The interior is nice and cozy and it’s truly one of my favorite spots. It’s also a grocery store, so you can get all your olive oil, fresh pasta, and pantry essentials here!
This place is a gem. It’s tiny and has the best bagels. They’re not too big, which is great. They’re soft, yet they’ve got a crispiness to them. All I need is one of their warm bagels and some scallion cream cheese and I’m happy.
Little Honey (This was added on January 19, 2025)
One of my favorite breakfast biscuits in NYC. I love this neighborhood cafe. I became a regular here (the best feeling) and I miss living near it! The pizza slices and rye cookies were scrumptious, as well.
Java Joe Coffee Tea & Spice Merchant
Technically, this is a coffee, tea, and spice store, BUT they also sell chai lattes, and this may have been the best oat chai latte I’ve ever had in my life. And I’ve tried a lot of them in NYC. It’s the most unique tasting one and reminds me of the one I used to get at Chiquitito Café in Mexico City.
This is my secret little spot for getting tamales. They only have them on the weekends, but it’s become my tradition to go get some warm tamales for breakfast. They also have great tortas (which I recommend for lunch and/or dinner).
Meet You There for Lunch?
The line at Winner is so long in the morning, but I go for one thing around lunchtime: the sourdough and the Pop’s Patties beef patty. Sometimes they’re sold out of the patties, but if you’re lucky, get it. It is the best little beef patty. And while you're at it, get yourself the peanut butter cookie.
A truly authentic Italian focaccia spot. They have so many flavors with different seasonal ingredients. I like the zucchini flavor and the spicy pepperoni, but they’re all amazing.
